The AMX192 to DMX512 Converter is an interface device which allows control consoles which output analog multiplex control to control dimmers that use DMX512 digital control. The Digital Multiplex Converter can be made to accept various analog multiplex signals, including AMX192 and CD-80. The Digital Multiplex output of this Converter meets the Untied States Institute of Theatre Technology's DMX512/1990 specification. It generates an eight micro-second mark-after-break, to be compatible with all DMX receivers. The basic converter circuit board converts one AMX signal to one DMX512 signal. Multiple Converter boards may be housed in a single cabinet to convert multiple analog lines to digital multiplex. Each board has a 4 pin "XLR" style AMX input connector and a 5 pin "XLR" style DMX output connector associated with it. The number of boards housed in a cabinet may be determined by the number of 4 pin connectors on the unit. On units designed to combine AMX inputs into a single DMX output, some of the 5 pin outputs may be omitted. |
