Throughout DMX history, Doug Fleenor Design has been right there to support the cause.
Doug Fleenor Design started as a consulting service to bring DMX512 capability to existing product lines for various companies. The first product marketed under the DFD name was an AMX192 to DMX512 converter. Shortly after came the Inline Opto-Isolator and the DMX Combine Unit. By 1998, our major focus was devoted to the DFD product line. Today, Doug Fleenor Design continues to consult on DMX projects, customize their standard products for unique solutions, and add useful products to their line.
Doug Fleenor, principle engineer, graduated in 1979 from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. In 1984, after five years with Intel and Victor Technologies, Mr. Fleenor joined the entertainment industry as Teatronics' engineer. Solving compatibility problems with the various multiplex protocols that preceded DMX512 earned him the nickname Dr. Mux which gradually segued to Dr. DMX.
Milton Davis, engineer extraordinaire, holds degrees in Fahrenheit, Celsius, Kelvin, and Technical Theater. Having excelled while at Bush Gardens, Colortran, and Strand Lighting, Davis moved to the Central Coast of California for the relaxed climate and because Doug Fleenor is really funny (looking).
